General Practice

We provide full general practice services to care for you and your family, the GP clinic is open Monday to Friday 8 am - 5 pm our Urgent Care is open Monday to Friday 9 am - 5 pm and Saturday 9am - 5pm and public holidays 9 am - 5 pm. Closed Sunday

Enrolling as a patient with Moorhouse Medical Centre provides you with ongoing health care from a GP and our whole practice team.

When can I see a doctor?

 

  • You can make an appointment to see your doctor Monday to Friday 8 am - 5 pm and our Urgent Care service is open Monday to Friday 9 am - 5 pm which includes Saturday and public holiday's we are open 9 am - 5 pm

          Closed Sunday


  • Although we prefer enrolled patients to see their own GPs, we will always see you if your problem is urgent. If your doctor is fully booked, you can make an appointment with another doctor or use our Urgent Care service you will pay the Urgent Care fee for this but being an enrolled patient, you will get a 10% discount.


  • GP appointments are up to 15 minutes. You can help us to keep waiting times short by telling us if your problem will require extra time. 


  • If you cannot attend your appointment, please let us know as soon as you can, as someone else may need your appointment time. You may be charged a DNA fee if you do not cancel your appointment and do not attend.

 

Double appointments are required if more than one person is attending, if patients want to discuss multiple health concerns and for some procedures and medicals. Please ask Reception staff to advise you on the correct appointment for you.

Nurse appointments
Appointments are available for nurse clinics and services including Diabetes, Cervical Smears, Smoking Cessation, Men's and Women's Wellness Checks and Immunisations.
All our patients have the right to have a chaperone present during examinations if they wish. 

You may wish to bring a support person with you or have a nurse chaperone. Please speak to your doctor or a practice nurse to let them know you would like this service.
