General Practice

We provide full general practice services to care for you and your family with the added advantage of After Hours care 8am to 8pm, 7 days a week.

When can I see a doctor?

You can make appointments to see your doctor Monday to Friday 8am – 7.30pm. We will always see you the same day if your problem is urgent. If your doctor is fully booked you can make an appointment with another doctor, or just come in to the walk in clinic.

Appointments are up to 15 minutes. You can help us keep waiting times short by telling us if your problem is urgent or will require extra time.

Double appointments are required for more than one person attending, multiple problems, some procedures and medicals. Please ask the reception staff to advise you on the correct appointment for you.

Nurse appointments are available for nurse clinics and services including Diabetes, Stop Smoking, Mens and Womens Wellness Checks and Immunisations.

Sexual Health & Family Planning services are available free to eligible patients.

Maternity care is free for enrolled patients in the first trimester. If you think you are pregnant, this can be confirmed by one of our practice nurses who will then suggest an appointment with your usual doctor to discuss your options for maternity care.

Child Health is also free for children under 6 years who are enrolled at Moorhouse

Mental Health care is provided by all our doctors and enrolled patients may be eligible for an extended consultation at no additional cost.

Insurance Medicals are best done by your own doctor. The insurance company will give you and your doctor very specific instructions on what they require. The usual is a half hour appointment with paperwork completed by you beforehand and be prepared for a blood test, urine sample and full physical examination, not often involving rectal or vaginal examinations. The company will usually pay the fees if they have requested the medical

Sports Injuries – with X-ray, and physiotherapy on site you can be treated right from the initial injury through to rehabilitation.

Chaperone - all our patients have the right to have a chaperone present during examinations if they wish. You may wish to bring a support person with you or have a nurse chaperone. Please ask your doctor or practice nurse.
