Immigration Medicals

Applicants for residence, and applicants for temporary entry intending a stay in New Zealand of more than 12 months will need to provide a full Medical and Chest X-Ray Certificate.

How does it work?

You will be required to attend two appointments at our clinic. Your first appointment will take approximately one hour. You will need to allow approximately 20 minutes for your second visit to see the doctor.

Your first appointment will be with a nurse who will undertake initial tests (heart rate, BMI & urine tests etc) followed by an X-ray. In addition, a ‘Fasting Blood Test’ is required and the nurse will initiate a form for this to be done the following day.

About a week to 10 days later you will need to return for a doctors appointment to complete the required form and review the results of your tests.

Do I need to bring anything?

You will need to bring:

  • Passport to BOTH appointments
  • 3 recent and all the same passport photos
  • Photos must be less than 6 months old
  • Immigration forms with personal details on pages 1, 2, 13, 14 and 15 completed
